Notice the Value in Those Around You

"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch."

~e. e. cummings

We all need to believe in our own value, and although we can do much to acknowledge our own value to ourselves, when another person acknowledges our value, it has special meaning.  Knowing that someone else notices that we are valuable, worthy and deserving gives us a special gift--the recognition that someone else notices what we have to offer.

This week:  Think about who in your life has acknowledged your value and worthiness.  Who has recognized that specialness you hold inside?  Who recognizes what you have to offer the world?  How has this helped you believe in yourself?  How do you do this for others?  Think about revealing to those you know that inside them you see something valuable, worth listening to, worthy of your trust and sacred to your trust.  Notice how it feels to give this gift to others.  Pay attention to opportunities to confirm what you notice in others and how they confirm what they notice in you.

Invest More to Get More

"I've found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show up more often."

~ Brian Tracy

In order have more luck, you need to be willing to invest yourself.  You need to believe in yourself and the outcome you are seeking.  When you are willing to give your all, you will notice more and more opportunities.  You will notice that your passion for your outcome carries your forward and creates its own "luck."

This week:  What area of your life would you like more "luck" in?  Now look at how invested you really are in that area.  Are you taking chances?  Are you active?  Are you showing up fully and passionately?  Are you really invested in getting your results?  If not, take some steps in increase your investment and passion about this area and what you want to see happen.  Believe it.  Now notice what opportunities show up for you.  Althugh you may not take them all, you will begin to notice that the opportunities become more abundant.

Facing Challenges Requires Character

"The true measure of a man is not how he behaves in moments of comfort and convenience but how he stands at times of controversy and challenges."

~Martin Luther King Jr.

We all face adversity at some time or another.  We all have challenges in our lives.  Our lives don't always run smoothly.  When we face challenges and controversy bravely, meeting it head on, it tells others about our character.  It is easy to face life when things are going smoothly.  But to take on the challenge takes courage.  When we face life with courage, we have the capability to achieve our dreams.  To do that, however, requires that you believe in yourself and your convictions.

This week:  Do some thinking about how you handle challenges.  Do you face them head-on?  Do you try to avoid them?  Do you sacrifice your convictions in order to placate others?  Think about how you have faced up to the challenges your life so far.  If you don't like what you see, make a commitment to change it.  Examine your beliefs.  What do you believe in SO PASSIONATELY that you would stand up for it even if others didn't agree?  This week experiment with expressing that belief in a few settings.  Notice what happens.
