The Rewards of Life Require the Risk of Playing the Game

"There's no reward in life without risk."

~Barry J. Farber

In order to "win" the game, you have to play.  You can't expect to sit on the sidelines, expecting to dream your outcome into being.  Yes, dreaming IS important, but you must take action.  Anytime you commit yourself to taking action, you are taking a risk.  You are putting yourself out there, declaring what you want.  You are stating your intention and you must now ante up.  Some people are afraid of the risk and allow that fear to derail them.  Even though you may not know the outcome for sure, what would you do if you knew you could not fail?  Take a chance.

This week:   Think about something you REALLY want.  Get clear about the outcome you'd like to achieve.  Be specific.  It can be something small or something big.  Now, think about what blocks you from having it?  How much of the obstacle to your success is related to fear of taking the risk?  Just think about how different your life would be if you took that risk AND were successful?  Think carefully about what the rewards are for you in achieving this outcome.  Are they big enough to overcome the fear?  If not, think about how you might make that outcome even MORE rewarding to you--not just at the end, but also along the way.

Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach and expert in helping people overcome self-sabotage.  When fear or limiting beliefs sabotage your best efforts at reaching your dreams, you need to be able to get rid of it.  Linda has a number of resources available, and is happy to talk with you about what might be best for you.  For more information, go to http://www.innerresourcecenter.com/

The Key to Health of Mind and Body Is to Live in the Present

"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly."

~The Buddha

If you want to live a healthy life, the key is to live in the present moment.  Too many people hang on to negative emotions and limiting beliefs from past experiences and sabotage their health and happiness.  Your experiences are there to teach you and allow you to move on.  There really is not need to hang on to your memories of negative experiences.  Those negative emotions are not necessary for the learning.  Let it go.  Those worries about the future?  They only focus you on those outcomes that you don't want to see happen.  When you focus on anticipating trouble, it doesn't help you prepare; it helps you create that outcome. Let go of the worries and preoccupation with the past and future.  Live in--and ENJOY--the present moment.

This week:   Notice when your thoughts turn to the past.  If you are preoccupied with things that have happened in the past, write them down.  These are issues you need to deal with that your unconscious mind is bringing to your attention.  Ask yourself: "What did I learn from that experience?"  Once you have identified the learning, imagine allowing the emotions you felt about that past experience to float out into outer space, like a balloon you are releasing.

Notice when your thoughts turn to worries about the future.  Write them down.  Now focus on the outcome you would LIKE to have happen.  Think about that outcome at least 5 times during the next 12 hours.  Imagine that you have already achieved that positive outcome. Notice if the anxiety disappears when you focus on the outcome you want.

Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach and expert in helping people let go of negative emotions and limiting beliefs that block their happiness and move quickly beyond those experiences.  She specializes in helping her clients let go of "emotional clutter," which is what she calls it.  For more information about her programs, go to http://www.innerresourcecenter.com/ or http://www.emotionalclutter.com/ for a download of her e-book.

Make New Results

"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new end."

~As We Understood
(An Alanon Publication)

As you approach a New Year, it is a good time to begin thinking about the results you want in the upcoming year.  You can't undo the past, but you can use your past results as feedback about what has worked and not worked.  You can learn from the lessons of those past mistakes and challenges.   When you do that, you begin to build the potential for a new end--new results.

This week: Think back over the past year.  What would you change if you  had the power?  What do you want to experience this year?  What don't you want to experience?  What lessons did you learn from those experiences.  What will you need to do differently to make a different outcome with different results?  Remember, you can only change YOUR life--you don't really have the power to change someone else.

Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach and expert in helping people create the results they are seeking in order to make their lives meaningful and happy.  For more information go to http://www.innerresourcecenter.com/ .

Decide How You Are Going to Live Today to Create Your Outcomes

"How am I going to live today in order to create the tomorrow I'm committed to?"

~Tony Robbins

This IS  the question, isn't it?  When you are really committed to create some particular outcome in your life, you need to DO something today to make it happen.  This sometimes involves taking action.  It sometimes means changing the way you are living.  If you are really committed, you will be willing to make these life changes.  This is "where the rubber meets the road."  Your outcome is connected to the way you choose to live today.

This week:  Think about the outcome you are committed to achieving.  What outcome do you really want?  Think about what life changes you will need to make to create that outcome.  If the goal is a great relationship, how will you need to act TODAY in order to create it?  If the outcome is living healthy, what lifestyle changes do you need to make TODAY in order to make that outcome real?  List all the things you are willing to do TODAY to create the outcome you are committed to achieving.  Choose ONE and DO IT!

Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach and expert in helping people change their lives to create the outcome they are committed to achieving.  She specializes in helping people get rid of "emotional clutter"--those negative emotions and limiting beliefs that block their success and happiness.  For more information and free resources, go to http://www.innerresourcecenter.com/ .

Let Go of Worries and Live Fully

"Live boldly. Take off those shackles and live life on your own terms."

~Varla Ventura

Have you ever noticed how much we keep ourselves prisoner to our worries and anxieties--all those "what ifs" that we conjure up? Have you noticed that when we focus on what "might" happen, we too seldom focus on the big success we might have? When you allow yourself to be imprisoned by your worries, you absolutely keep yourself from having success. You aren't living fully, and you aren't being yourself.
This week: Focus on what might happen if you took off the shackles of your anxiety, and began to live boldly. Imagine what could happen if you knew you could not fail. Embrace the possibility of living on your own terms. What would be different? Focus on the feeling you get when you are imagining that outcome. Breathe deeply several times. What would be the first thingyou would need to do to begin creating that outcome? Do it!

Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach, certified trainer and expert in helping people overcome their limitations. She specializes in helping people let go of "emotional clutter"--those negative emotions and limiting beliefs from the past. Get What You Want in Life by Deciding What That Is

The first step to getting what you want out of life is this:

Decide what you want.

~Ben Stein

It is so true that you need to DECIDE what you want your outcome to be. So many of us go through life complaining that it isn't what we want it to be. But the first step has to be not only to envision what you want, but to DECIDE that you will pursue it.

This week: Think about the outcome you would like to have in your life. How do you want to be living right now? Get a clear picture, and fill in the details--what you will see, what you will hear, what you will feel, even what you will smell and taste. Make it vivid in all of your 5 senses. Then, take the first step: DECIDE what you are going to do to get there.

Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach and expert at helping people create lives that express their purpose. She is the owner of Inner Resource Center, LLC in Maryville, TN. Don't Just Wait--Take Action

"While we wait for tomorrow, we must act for today."

~Mani Sivasubramanian
This is especially true for us now. While we may be hoping that things will get better in the future, we must still take action today. In fact taking action is a way to take charge of your future. While things don't always work out exactly the way you might plan, taking an action to create the future outcome you are seeking is really the only way to ensure that you are moving toward it.
This week: Ask yourself: "What outcome have I been waiting for?" What do you want to have happen? Ask yourself "What action can I take to help create this outcome?" Take action, even something small each day. The more action you take, the less waiting will be involved.
Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach and expert in helping people achieve their goals using her solution focused approach. She specializes in helping people take charge of their lives by eliminating "emotional clutter"--those negative emotions and limiting beliefs that we sometimes stockpile from past experiences. The First Step to Getting the Most Out of Life

"The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this:

Decide what you want."

~Ben Stein

We sometimes forget that if we don't know where we are going, it will be tough to get there. In order to get the things you want from your life, you first must decide what you want. Once you've envisioned the outcome you are seeking, you can begin to put into place a plan to get there step-by-step.

This Week: Think about what you want to get out of your life. Decide what you want. Do you want it enough to work for it? If it is really something you want, are you ready to put together a plan to get there? This is the perfect time of year to be doing this type of planning!
