The Expression of Your Power Requires Relaxation

"Your power is proportional to your ability to relax."

~ David Allen

When you have the ability to relax, you allow yourself to replenish.  You build an environment that nurtures your power and your creativity.  You allow yourself to reflect, to think more clearly, and to relate to others more authentically.  You are able to relax you can really allow yourself to be most yourself--and in doing that, you allow your power to shine through.

This week:  Take time to relax each day.  Allow yourself to center yourself, to escape cares and worries just for a short period of time.  Make sure you allow yourself at least 20 minutes when you can focus on your breathing, focus on turning within.  Acknowledge your wise self.  Acknowledge what is right in your world.  Do this each day for at least a week.  Notice at the end of the week how you feel.  Do you feel more connected to YOURSELF?  Has there been an increase in your calmness?  Acknowledge yourself for taking the time to connect with yourself through this relaxation.

Disturb Your Routine

"The best cure for a sluggish mind is to disturb its routine."

~William H. Danforth

I'm on vacation for the next two weeks--changing my routine. Instead of grey skies and cold weather, I'm in the sun. Instead of moving forward to get things done, I'm relaxing, reading some good books and enjoying new adventures with friends. Getting out of your routine, whether it is taking a vacation or just doing something a little different, can get us out of our rut. We can often begin to think more creatively when we are outside of our normal routine.

This week: Find a way to break your winter doldrums by disturbing your routine. It might just be driving home from work a different way. It might be stopping to talk with someone you don't usually take the time to connect with. It might be going to a different restaurant, or ordering something completely different than you usually do. Explore small ways to change your routine.

Explore Your Capabilities

"If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves."
~Thomas Edison

All of us are capable of doing more than we think we can. We have untapped reservoirs of strength and creativity, knowledge and experience in all sorts of areas that we don't utilize. We stop ourselves with limiting beliefs--"I don't know enough," "I can't do it," "I'm too old or too young or too poor."

This week: Allow yourself to imagine what you could accomplish if you allowed yourself to do all that you are capable of doing. Just take some time to dream about this. What would you do first, especially if you KNEW FOR CERTAIN that you could succeed?

Living with Passion

"Passion is the Genesis of Genius"
~Anthony Robbins
Tony is absolutely right about this! Passion really ignites energy, and allows the creative process to take off. When you feel passion about something, it drives you forward. It feeds your soul. It drives you to step up and stretch yourself beyond what you thought might be possible. This energy, this drive, this passion, creates the kernel, the beginning seed of genius. When combined with ACTION, the genius in your plans can take off and really begin to make a difference.
This week: Use YOUR passion to begin to create the genius necessary. Start to make a difference about what is most important to you.
