Pay Attention to the Voice That Guides You

"I think we all have a little voice inside us that will guide us. It may be God. I don't know. But I think that if we shut out all the noise and clutter from our lives and listen to that voice, it will tell us the right thing to do."

~Christopher Reeve

We all have that wisdom inside us--whether it comes from God or comes from our deepest knowledge of ourselves and what is right for us. The key is paying attention to it. When you listen to that wise voice, it guides you toward what is best for you. Sometimes that voice speaks as our conscience, and sometimes it guides us to start a new life adventure (as mine did).

This week: Pay close attention to that inner voice. When you aren't sure about a decision, go inside and ask that wise part of you to guide you. Then pay attention!

Be Around People Who Can Support Your Energy and Inspiration

"Be around people who can keep your energy and inspiration high. While you can make progress alone, it's so much easier when you have support."

~Dr. Joe Vitale

It is so important to be in environments and around people who can support your energy and creativity. There is a synergy that comes from collaborating and being supported by others of like mind. When you are around others who encourage you to "dream big" and support you to be your best, not only is the process much easier than doing it alone, the outcome is often of much higher quality. This, by the way, is one of the reasons that having a coach allows you to become your very best--your coach helps you keep your energy and inspiration high.

This week: Think about an area of your life where you could use some support and inspiration. Is there a project you've been procrastinating about? Do you have a dream you haven't dared make come true? Solicit support from someone to help you. It can be a friend, coworker, mentor, teacher, or family member. Make sure they are people who can keep your energy and inspiration high, and can help you be your very best. If you don't have anyone in your life like that, consider hiring a coach, even for a short time. The small expense will greatly increase your productivity.

You Hold the Key to Being Happy

Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.

~Abraham Lincoln

Too often we forget that we each hold the key to being happy. While events in our lives may impact us, we are the ones who decide how to respond to those events. We decide how to feel about it by what we choose to believe. Some people believe that the world has it out for them; others believe that challenges are opportunities to prove themselves; still others aren't really bothered by those same events--because they don't think anything about them. You can make up your mind to be happy in spite of what circumstances bring.

This week: When something happens you hadn't counted on, take the opportunity to either be happy about it, or to view it neutrally. Don't CHOOSE to be derailed by it. View it as a hiccup. View it as a speed bump. View it as a challenge. View it as an expression of the universe's sense of humor. Notice how choosing to perceive it differently changes it.

Your Vision Reflects What Is In Your Heart

Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.

~Carl Jung

Your vision is closely linked which who you REALLY are in your heart of hearts. Your vision needs to reflect your values--what is most important to you. You can only know this by connecting with the wise part of you, inside yourself. Too often we try to set our vision according to what someone else wants, whether it is a member of our family, close friend or even our target market. When you focus on what others want and make that your vision, you can lose the authenticity of that vision. The more the vision reflect what is inside YOU, the more it awakens your passion and becomes clearly expressed in everything you do.

This week: Spend some time connecting with YOUR vision. Look inside yourself and connect with that wise part of you that knows what is most important to you. As you think about your vision for your life or business, allow yourself to allow the passion you feel INSIDE to awaken and express itself. Capture it in words or pictures.

Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach and expert in helping people create lives of meaning and authenticity. She encourages people to connect with the inner resources inside themselves, and, in fact, the name of her company is Inner Resource Center, LLC. Get What You Want in Life by Deciding What That Is

The first step to getting what you want out of life is this:

Decide what you want.

~Ben Stein

It is so true that you need to DECIDE what you want your outcome to be. So many of us go through life complaining that it isn't what we want it to be. But the first step has to be not only to envision what you want, but to DECIDE that you will pursue it.

This week: Think about the outcome you would like to have in your life. How do you want to be living right now? Get a clear picture, and fill in the details--what you will see, what you will hear, what you will feel, even what you will smell and taste. Make it vivid in all of your 5 senses. Then, take the first step: DECIDE what you are going to do to get there.

Linda Pucci, Ph.D. is a psychologist, life coach and expert at helping people create lives that express their purpose. She is the owner of Inner Resource Center, LLC in Maryville, TN. Fear Is Preparing You to Take Action

"When you feel fear, ask yourself this question. What positive action is this fear preparing me to take?"

~Ralph Marston

Sometimes we allow ourselves to be stopped by our fear. We think it must signal danger. We worry about negative results. Fear can actually signal that you are ready to move outside your comfort zone. When you can face that fear, you can stretch yourself beyond your limitations and achieve things you didn't know you could.

This week: Pay attention to what causes you feel fear. Are you worried about failing? Do you think you can't do something? This week allow the fear to be a signal that there is a positive action you are getting ready to take. Identify it. Ask yourself: "What positive action must I take to overcome this fear?" Take that action. Notice what happens to your fear. Does it disappear when you think about it as signaling a positive action? Notice how empowered you feel.
