Your Thoughts Are the Key to Reaching Your Dreams

"Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Thoughts are things! And powerful things at that, when mixed with definiteness of purpose, and burning desire, can be translated into riches."

~Napoleon Hill

When you set a goal or state your intention, you set in motion a powerful process.  Our minds--our brains, actually--can turn what we think about into reality.  Quantum physics has shown that thoughts can change the properties of matter.  That is a powerful force.  But to use it effectively, your thoughts and ideas must be combined with a strong motivation to turn them into reality.  Goals can do that for you, if you set goals that are compelling and emotionally powerful for you.  Your brain can create your blueprint for achieving them, and hurry to attract the resources necessary to "make it so."

This week:  Think about one main goal you would like to achieve this year.  Make it something you feel strongly about.  Make sure it is powerful and emotionally compelling.  Write it down.  Think about it in your spare moments.  Let your brain create a plan for achieving it.  Ask yourself : "What would I need to do next to reach this goal?"  Let your brain supply the answer.  Let your motivation to achieve that goal carry you forward.  You are on your way!

Learn From The Mistakes of Others As Well As Your Own

Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.

~Eleanor Roosevelt

We all make mistakes, and the key is to learn from them. The good news is that you don't have to wait until YOU make the mistake in order to learn. You can learn from the mistakes that others make as well. In NLP, we say, "There is no failure, only feedback." From each mistake or failure, there are lessons to be learned. You don't need to let mistakes devastate you, just learn from them. And let the mistakes of others guide you as well.

This week: Look back on the mistakes you made last week. What did you learn from them? Think about the mistakes that those around you made as well. What can you learn from those experiences? How can you use your mistakes and those of others to help you in the future? Write down your learnings.

Play Full-Out for Success

"I can't imagine a person becoming a success
who doesn't give this game of life everything he's got."
~Walter Cronkite
When you play at your goals half-heartedly, you get inconsistent or half-hearted results. In order to really be successful, you have to want it fully--your goal needs to be COMPELLING. When you have a compelling goal and play the game of life full out, you can create a life that is full and joyful.
This week: Think about your current goals. Are they compelling? If not, how could you redefine your goal so that you'd want to play full-out? Redefine your goal to make it compelling. Your Mental Attitude is Key

"Nothing can stop the person with the right mental attitude from achieving their goal; nothing on earth can help the person with the wrong mental attitude."

~Thomas Jefferson

Your mental attitude is really the key to success. When you have a positive mental attitude, believe in yourself and are determined to succeed, you can make it happen. When you believe "I can't..." or "I'm not good enough..." you will stop yourself in your tracks. Getting into a positive mental attitude and using that to your advantage isn't as difficult as you might think. The resources are out there to help you change your attitude--but you first have to be willing to look at what your attitudes are and whether they are working for you or not.

This week: Take an inventory of your attitudes. Write them down. Do they help you or hurt you? If you have mental attitudes that keep you from your goals, figure out what you would have to believe instead. The most important belief? Change is possible!

Meaning and Money

"It is more rewarding to watch money change the world than watch it accumulate."

~ Gloria Steinem

Sometimes we get so caught up in pursuing money and our financial goals that we forget that money is a means to an end. Having money isn't about just accumulating it. Money becomes useful because of what it allows us to do.

This week: Think about what you want to DO with the financial abundance you are creating. How can you make your money COUNT? How would you like to change the world?
