Don't Assume Your Dreams Are Impossible

"It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow."

~Robert H. Goddard

It is important not to assume that your dreams are impossible.  Things that we once thought were impossible are everyday events now.  The dreams you create set the stage for the solutions to them.  When you really allow yourself to dream, to imagine the "what ifs," you set in motion a process in your brain for ideas and solutions to percolate and come to the surface.  Each step brings you closer to their creation.

This week:  Allow yourself to dream a bit.  What would you like to achieve, even if you don't really think it is possible?   Imagine "What if it were possible?"  Picture it in vivid detail.  Hear what people would say about it.  Feel the feelings you would associate with having that dream come true.  Now, ask yourself:  "What one small step could I take this week, to help bring this dream into reality?"  Allow your unconscious thoughts to find solutions.  Write them down and take a small action.  You will be beginning to bring that dream into reality.

Linda, this sentence in your blog has such impact. "Things that we once thought were impossible are everyday events now."

It takes the pressure off to know that dreams come through everywhere - you just need to be open and focused.

Hi, Linda! I love this message. The power of taking the time to really visualize, feel, taste, smell what your dreams will feel like when you realize them is drastically undervalued. If it was valued more we would all be doing it daily. I need to recommit to dreaming daily!

I did this same exercise last year with my vision/dreams and it made me more aware that as I lived each day from my vision, that it would position me to fully live my dream.

Thanks Linda!

As a child, I often said, "I don't dream about things I could never do" And it's still true, to a degree. I never dreamed of being an olympic athlete or a movie star because I never really wanted to be either one. But I've learned that dreams are really just goals that stretch us, and in that sense, I am learning to dream big. It's been a whole new journey for me!

I agree with Beth, "Things that we once thought were impossible are everyday events now." How very very true!

I remember about 15 years ago, my husband told me that a day would come when I could sit at a computer at my desk and order clothes, books, groceries, furniture...whatever I wanted and it would be delivered to my doorstep. It's not the first time I thought he was a little nuts!

How very wrong I was. What if that's how it works??? Sitting with focus and loving attention, we can place an order with our subconscious and the Great Mystery and have our dreams delivered to our doorstep? What kind of awesome magic is that?!

Thanks for a provocative post, Linda!
